“But how can boys be living things if they don’t reproduce?”
Awesome. Stellar. Truly. What a question! How would you answer it on your feet?
I’d like to say that my response “on my feet” would be something like this:
“Awesome question! Let’s explore. Where should we start?” And then I’d push the student to start classifying other properties of boys and then also make a list of what makes something alive. I’d send him/her home with these questions, and then come back with some cool examples of living things (hibernation and asexuality, for example, are cool examples).
